During the Cannes Film Festival, The DANCE: Between Polarity makes a compelling appearance in CHAMPIONS Cannes, a private, standalone event set within an exclusive villa just minutes from the official festival.
Produced by Paris Fashion Air with Anna Sashina and Alex Surba, and curated by Anthony Haden-Guest, Anna Sashina, and Bailey Lalonde, the evening brings together a dynamic intersection of art, sport, and culture. Headlining the exhibition is Mambu Bayoh, a MoMA-collected artist, whose work anchors the presentation with a powerful exploration of identity, resilience, and human experience.
Complementing this are select works by Bailey & Christi Lalonde, whose figurative, abstract expressionist practice—centered on boxing and the human form—continues to explore themes of endurance, vulnerability, and transformation. Additional special guest artists, to be announced, will further enrich the dialogue. Martin Sky Art Management will be supporting the artist duo through isee.art.
The exhibition is further distinguished by the inclusion of an original Guernica print by Pablo Picasso, created in collaboration with master engraver Joan Barbarà, founder of Studio 46 Barcelona—bridging historic significance with contemporary expression.
Rooted in purpose, the event raises awareness and support for retired boxing champions through former world champion Donny Lalonde’s initiative Taking Kare of Our Own, aligning the exhibition’s themes with tangible social impact.
With a highly curated guest list spanning leaders and talent across boxing, fine art, fashion, and cinema, CHAMPIONS Cannes offers an intimate yet powerful setting—where cultural influence, creative expression, and advocacy converge during one of the world’s most iconic gatherings.
