The Head of the Charles Regatta, the world's largest two-day rowing event, returns to the Charles River October 16–18. Thousands of rowers race a 3-mile course from the BU Boathouse to the Eliot Bridge, and spectators line both banks
Watching is free and there's no registration. Popular viewing spots include the Weeks Footbridge, known for its sharp 90-degree turn, and the Weld Exhibition at Riverbend Park near Harvard Square, where you'll find food vendors and picnic space. Check the regatta's website for the race schedule
