Come celebrate! Join us for a ribbon cutting, refreshments, a walk through the refreshed museum, and a wander through four acres of one of Central Oregon's most beloved landmarks, the peacocks included. What's new: Webfoot Home Improvements (2025 Project Serious winner) gave the Rock Garden a $20,000 transformation: fresh paint on the museum interior, all-new flooring throughout, and a brand-new black light floor in the glow room that makes the rocks and the space come alive in a whole new way. Preserve Oregon contributed an additional $10,000 toward a new roof on the historic house on site. This place has been brought back the right way. The story: Built by Danish immigrant Rasmus Petersen starting in 1935, this four-acre folk art landmark has miniature castles, stone bridges, a fluorescent room full of glowing minerals, and roughly 40 peacocks roaming freely through the grounds. There is nothing else like it in Central Oregon. Free admission. Family friendly. Rain or shine. Refreshments provided.
