Rooted in Motswana heritage, OK Naledi weaves raw emotion and vibrant sounds into stories of heartbreak, love, queerness, family and adulthood. Their songwriting is deeply personal, shaped by the experience of living in a Western context while carrying the roots and rhythms of southern Africa. OK Naledi blends traditional sub-Saharan guitar lines, warm bassy grooves, and movement-inspiring beats to create a sound that’s both genre-defiant and soul-stirring. Their lyricism is intimate and poetic, offering listeners a space to feel seen, held, and moved. OK Naledi is the creative vessel of Naledi—a Black, queer, non-binary Motswana Canadian artist—and features Kira Montfort, a queer, femme, drummer/percussionist, and vocalist. Together, they collaborate with a rotating collective of talented queer, femme, BIPOC and non-binary artists, united by a shared mission to elevate and represent community in spaces that have long ignored or excluded them. ______________________________ MAR x MARACLE Emerging from the vibrant music scene of Ottawa Ontario (unceded Anishinaabe Algonquin territory), Mar x Maracle is a dynamic duo between Lucila Al Mar and Jacob Maracle, whose combined talents are reshaping the musical landscape. This Salvadoran and Mohawk duo seamlessly blend soul, country and punk, resulting in a sound that is both innovative and deeply resonant. Their music and lyrical talents are layered just as they are. Their songs are a reflection of their lives, ancestry, and deep relationship with music, an honest recovering of hope. _____________________________ VENUE: The venue is wheelchair accessible.
