FEATURES
Lance Weiler is a filmmaker and founding director of the Columbia University Digital Storytelling Lab. He made his 1998 debut "The Last Broadcast" with $900 and grossed $5M. It was the first film beamed into theaters by satellite, beating George Lucas by a year. He's a Sundance Screenwriting Lab alum, a professor, and according to WIRED, one of 25 people reinventing Hollywood. Ask him how he got his start in the 90s as a camera assistant, or about teaching music to his son.

Char Simpson (they/them) is a narrative designer and producer making immersive experiences. They co-created a horror installation where Amazon's Alexa channels the dead (Sundance New Frontier, Tribeca, Cannes). They've worked with Blackout, one of the most extreme haunted houses in America. They're an alum of CalArts, the Sundance Storytelling Lab, and POV Spark Lab, and teach at Columbia and SVA. Ask them about authoring the first "Choose Your Own Adventure" graphic novel.
Columbia DSL (est. 2013) is a next-gen media lab exploring storytelling across forms (Brown Institute Magic Grant, NYT). Previous partners include the National Theatre, Lincoln Center, IDFA DocLab, Sundance, and The Shed.

The Last Human Collective explores the horror of the "Dead Internet," where algorithms overwhelm our humanity. This includes synthetic media (bots, deepfakes, slop), misinformation, and more. Its 10,000 sq ft immersive experience LAST HUMAN has appeared at the Museum of the Moving Image, The Wrong Biennale, and MAD Arts.
