A Solo Exhibition by Chris Wubbena
Opening Reception: July 11, 2026
This summer, Not Shockboxx welcomes nationally exhibited sculptor and multimedia artist Chris Wubbena for a solo exhibition that transforms the gallery into a layered world of objects, films, fragments, memories, architecture, humor, anxiety, beauty, and survival.
Wubbena brings an ambitious body of work that blends sculpture, painting, writing, sound, and short film into one immersive exhibition experience. These are not quiet objects. They stack stories on top of stories. Tiny houses balance on impossible forms. Trophy cups become monuments to fleeting victories. Found materials collide with poetry, QR codes, film loops, model buildings, and hand-built structures that feel both playful and emotionally loaded.
At the center of the exhibition is the question posed in the title itself: What Now!?
The work lives in that feeling; the strange middle space where we are constantly adapting, carrying, processing, rebuilding, remembering, and trying to make sense of the present while already moving into the next thing. The sculptures pull together everything at their disposal into layered worlds that feel intimate, chaotic, funny, fragile, and deeply human. Nothing feels fixed. Everything feels in motion.
This is the kind of exhibition that rewards slowing down. Every object feels like it has a secret. Every sculpture feels like a small universe balancing on the edge of collapse.
Trust us, these are pieces you do not want to miss.
