to my fellow job hunters: we're heading into the deep santa cruz mountains this week for a beautiful, heavily shaded trek. expect towering douglas firs, quiet redwood groves, and a solid climb to clear your mind. 📍 location: bear creek redwoods open space preserve 📍 5.4mi / 1,085ft gain (moderate loop, mostly shaded with some steep, sustained climbs) ⏳ estimated time: 2.5–3 hr 🌲 scenery: lush, dense forest trails, mountain streams, and bay/oak woodlands. 🧴 essentials: it's beautifully shaded, but the incline will work up a sweat—bring plenty of water and solid hiking shoes. 🚫 🐕 pups: please note that dogs are not allowed on the trails at this specific preserve. 🏃‍♀️ pace check: please be confident in your ability to maintain a steady group tempo on sustained uphill stretches. see y'all on the trail! 🕵️‍♂️🌲🥾
