Join a food tour celebrating Black excellence in Allston-Brighton’s restaurants! You’ll get to know your neighborhood and your neighbors, while you savor the flavors of several places in one go! We’ll also have the opportunity to highlight resources and stories that weave Black history through the past, present, and future of this city. We'll meet at Rhythm 'n Wraps to start, before walking to Rock City Pizza, and finishing at The Pearl Boston Landing. If you can't make it, be sure to go enjoy these places on other days! How it works: Being a group, we can limit costs, such as with shareable plates. Even more, we subsidize costs within the group by welcoming a range of people who are able to contribute at different levels based on their budget. We also offer various tours that can subsidize others, when needed. This allows us to pull up a few extra chairs for everyone to come to the table together. Pay What You Can / Sliding Scale (Pay in Advance) Suggested Prices: Standard Price: $30 (covers expected food costs) Solidarity Price: $5-10 (you're welcome to join and will receive exactly the same food as everyone else) Supporter Price: $50+ (pays for food and directly enables others to join at the solidarity ticket price) [Similar efforts from other groups charge $70-$140] Tips: Usually, on other tours that we run, tipping the guide at the end will pay for the planning and guiding work. On this tour, you can instead direct those tips to the food businesses we visit. If you want to buy drinks or additional food, you're welcome to! That'll be separate to keep the shared costs to a level where we can offset them and bring more people along. Public Transit: Green Line (B Branch) and 57 Bus are at the start. Boston Landing Commuter Rail is at the end, and several other bus routes are nearby (66, 86, 64) There's a fair amount of street parking available in the area, especially on Brighton Ave. Plus, lots of BlueBikes racks and areas to lock your own bike.
