Virtual Rent Party: Good Vibes in Desperate Times
Hey there.
Struggling to make it through these increasingly "interesting" times?
Same, bruh.
Same.
Back in September of last year, I lost my nonprofit job due to Trump-related budget cuts. This after years of chronic illness, surviving a car-totaling crash, and undergoing major surgery a just few months before.
I am incredibly proud of and surprised by my own strength and resilience in making it through these trials. However, I know that I would never have gotten this far without the care and support of my friends and community.
As the threat of missed rent, car, and utility payments once again looms overhead, I'm reaching out again for some much needed help.
Starting this Sunday, I will be hosting a bi-weekly, virtual rent party. Nothing major, just a chill meetup on Zoom with lo-fi beats, maybe some Jack-box games, a brief reprieve from the ongoing dumpster fire consuming our world, and a humble donation request.
I'm deeply aware that stories like mine are increasingly common and I genuinely do not want anyone to give if they cannot do so comfortably. Still feel free to stop by and say hi, no donation required.
