21 Miles for Dad. 💜
Nineteen years ago, on July 21st, I lost my father. I was only 9 years old.
Grief has changed over the years, but so has the way I choose to honor him. Rather than spending his anniversary focused on the loss, I’m choosing to celebrate the life he lived and the impact he had on mine.
On July 21st, I’ll be running 21 miles, divided into three 7 mile segments. This isn’t about setting a personal record. It’s about remembrance, gratitude, love, and honoring the man who helped shape the person I am today.
This run is my thank you. My tribute. My way of carrying him with me, one mile at a time.
While this run is dedicated to my dad, if you’ve lost someone you love, whether it’s a parent, sibling, grandparent, friend, or anyone who left a mark on your heart, I invite you to dedicate a mile, a walk, or even a thought to them that day. We may all be carrying different stories, but we don’t have to carry them alone.
To my friends, family, and the running community, thank you for your endless love and support. Whether you’re running beside me, cheering from the sidelines, tracking my progress, sending messages, or simply keeping me in your thoughts, it means more than you’ll ever know.
21 miles. 19 years. One incredible father. Forever with me. 💜🏃🏽♀️
