Hi friends, Big thanks to everyone who joined the soft opening social ride! Wowie, it was a blast to goof around and ride bikes with you all. I didn't even mind getting a flat tire because the company and views were so good. Hope you made friends and had fun too! For those of you who couldn't make it, we'll sync up one of these days! My Sound Break rides will be a monthly thing now, on the 3rd Wednesday of the month as our ~Wednesday Wander~ series. And of course, come visit the bike shop/café anytime after our August 8th opening - we'll be open daily and I'm here on Wednesdays! SCHED: Route details to come on this ride, but here's the general timeline! 4:45pm MEETUP at Sound Break, in RailSpur Alley. 115 S Jackson St, in Pioneer Square: check out the new bike shop (it'll be for real open!) grab a drink, mingle. 5:15pm ROLL OUT for a ~15 mile ride within the city. If you have a directional preference or stop requests, feel free to let me know before 8/12 when I'll plan the route! VIBE: This is a social ride to enjoy the beauty of Seattle, experience new routes together, and meet friends, old or new! We'll ride at a relaxed pace, and have frequent regroups to stick together. GET INVOLVED: Volunteers for corking (a great role if you like to ride fast) and/or caboose (if you'd be excited to walkie talkie with me!) are always hugely appreciated :) Please find me to chat before the ride if you're open to helping! I'll also be coordinating a fun cycling-themed events calendar with other rides, workshops and more - stay tuned for that, and please reach out if you're interested in collaborating! I'm super stoked to have the opportunity to help cultivate a space for cyclists to come together, share what you're excited about, get to know each other, be inspired, and plan your next ride. We want Sound Break to be a jumping off point for your bike adventures! GUIDELINES: We use the buddy system to keep track of folks, and you're welcome to peel off early as long as you tell your buddy or leave together. If your buddy leaves, please join another buddy group! We'll have some stops & regroups along the way. Please ride a functioning bike, wear a helmet, and have some comfort riding in the city. Be respectful of others using the road and trails. Flat fix supplies and basic tools are encouraged. This ride will end before dark, but bring lights if you'll be out later. Please RSVP individually so you can each sign the waiver, TY. All riders are ultimately responsible for themselves. Come one, come all!
