Join us at Battery Park Library for a fun, and low pressure workshop designed to explore the Library's offerings and collections as a catalyst for creativity! Looking to learn new things, or discover a new creative passion, but having trouble finding the time or way to make it happen? Combining a library tour, book browsing, prompted journaling and sketching, and conversation, the Octopus workshop ties together many avenues - or perhaps, tendrils - that participants can use to ignite their creative passions while visiting their local library branch. No experience required! MEET THE FACILITATORS Aaisha Bhuiyan is a writer and lecturer at Columbia University’s Strategic Communications department. She sits on the Management Advisory Board at Berkeley College. She was previously a teaching artist at the Asian American Writers’ Workshop (AAWW) and a 2021 Open City Fellow. She has facilitated workshops at The Met, UNESCO, Amazon and Google. Sana Khan is a writer and editor. A former Asian American Writers’ Workshop fellow, her work has been nominated for Best of the Net 2024 and Best American Essays 2023. She is the editorial lead for the PBS American Muslims documentary series, and was previously a project editor at Oxford University Press.
