The Scooby Doo Mansion is excited to welcome José Luiz Martins and Seysew for our first show of the spring!
From the vibrant city of São Paulo, Brazil, José Luiz Martins is a pianist-composer-bandleader and producer based in the Washington, DC area. Drawing inspiration from the rich musical heritage of his homeland, José (pron. ‘Joe-zay’) seamlessly incorporates Brazilian rhythms with flavors of jazz, classical, rock, and contemporary music, creating a thoroughly unique and captivating sound.
A gifted performer and arranger, José has a reputation for his harmonic sensibility and improvisation skills. His compositions blend cultural roots with experimentation in ways that resonate with audiences around the world.
Keith Butler Jr. is a Washington, DC based drummer and composer, and Seysew is the home for his compositional voice, shaped in collaboration with the musicians who bring it to life. They help him say so.
