Whatsupdc. presents Salonhouse, an intimate house-concert venue where music, dialogue, and community converge. These unique experiences dissolve the boundaries between artist and audience, creating a shared space for connection. Through compelling performances, thought-provoking discussions, and immersive visual design, Salonhouse invites listeners to engage deeply with the art and with one another. It’s more than a concert—it’s a place to come together, connect, and explore the sounds, ideas, and stories that shape us. Subscribe to whatsupdc: whatsupdc.substack.com LOCATOR the electronic music project run by composer and cellist Daniel Frankhuizen, blends audio-reactive visuals with strings, synths, and beats to create an immersive experience. The cello becomes a vessel of endless possibilities, morphing again and again through a whirlwind of looping, sampling, and live processing. While the music is truly genre-fluid, LOCATOR is equally influenced by classical minimalist composers Richter/Reich as well as electronic musicians like Aphex Twin, Jon Hopkins, and Bonobo. The Salonhouse 05 performance is a 'dont-miss': the first set being a solo LOCATOR performance with a newly evolving visual audio-reactive and lighting component executed by Tal Topf that truly brings the audience into the work. The second set of music will lean more towards the neoclassical/minimalist spectrum and feature additional collaborators: Andrew Grossman, piano | Celaya Kirchner, violin | Sophie Dolamore, viola as well as several additional guest performers. The second set will also include arrangements of music by Icelandic composer, Ólafur Arnalds and include a poetry reading presented by the Icelandic Embassy. www.locatormusic.com
