Los Feliz Writers Fest 2026 : Fall in Love With Your Own Voice
Great writers aren't great because they're technically perfect. They're great because their voice is distinct. What makes you distinct?
In this workshop, we'll explore how to write with greater authenticity, bravery, and depth while celebrating and developing your unique writing style that could not belong to anyone else... not even AI!
Through writing exercises, improv, discussion, and self-reflection, participants will learn practical tools for finding inspiration everywhere, writing beyond clichés, and creating poetry that feels both deeply personal and accessible. You don’t have to be a poet to get something from this workshop, you just need a pen, paper, and a pulse!
This workshop is facilitated by Aubrey Mayne.
Aubrey Mayne is a writer and artist mostly in LA, though she is frequently globe-trotting. Her work has appeared with the LA Poet Society, Perverse 4 Verse, Spoken Word Paris, Joy Frequencies, Sims Library Of Poetry, Darling Magazine, UCB Theater, Sunflower Station Press, The Michelin Guide, Abracadabra Film Festival, and Spooky Bonus Films. She is also the creator of the poetry podcast Public Display of Connection and the comedy series Inside the Artist. Her debut poetry collection, Read Some Poetry You Buttheads, was released in 2026.
