Beach parking fees are collected at Jacob Riis Park and Sandy Hook between the Saturday of Memorial Day weekend and Labor Day. Parking is $20 per vehicle per day, or $100 per vehicle per season. Parking fees are in effect from 8 am to 6 pm. Gateway National Recreation Area is a cashless park. Credit and debit cards or contactless payments only will be accepted at both sites. The Jacob Riis parking lot closes at 10 p.m.

Bring: Beach essentials, sunscreen, snacks, drinks, comfortable shoes. Feel free to bring any games you might like to play.

Irie Igloo × Sucia NYC are linking up for a Beach Day at Riis, The People’s Beach. Come spend the day with us by the water for some sun, community, connection, and summertime foolishness. Come swim, nap, snack, play, yap, read, ground yourself, touch some grass... well, sand and water.. and enjoy being outside together ❄️🏝️✨ We’ll be posted up from 12PM through sunset, so pull up when you can and stay as long as it feels good. This is a BYO everything beach day. Bring your own food, drinks, water, blankets, chairs, shade, sunscreen, beach gear, and whatever else you need to be comfortable for the day.
