Join us for "Tarot for Writers" an interactive workshop exploring tarot as a tool to unlock self expression and re-enchant craft for writers and creatives. No prior knowledge of tarot is necessary. Bring your notebooks and an open spirit! The workshop begins with a brief lesson on the tarot and its creative applications. Then, participants engage in a writing exercise based on a tarot reading performed in the moment, using the cards’ symbols and interpretations as generative prompts. Willa is a writer, poet and tarot practitioner based in Los Feliz. She is passionate about using tarot as a tool to align with one's higher self and creative potential. FAQ: WHAT TO BRING Bring blankets, yoga mats, pillows–anything you need to be comfortable! Please bring your notebooks and something to write with/on. If you have tarot cards, feel free to bring those, too! Bonus points if you put your deck in order so cards are easier to find and reference. The most important thing to show up with is an open mind and heart. LOGISTICS AND ACCESSIBILITY Barnsdall has limited free parking. Parking at the top of the hill may be full on busier weekend days. Rideshare and public transport are encouraged. More information at barnsdall.org. Portable restrooms are available. The area is paved, though there are some uneven surfaces and inclines. We may have limited seating for those unable to sit on the floor. WHAT IF I’M ON THE WAITLIST? The Los Feliz Writer’s Festival is a free community resource for any and all writers in Los Angeles. We are thrilled by the overwhelming response and number of RSVPs we’ve gotten so far. If you are on the waitlist, you are welcome to show up to the event anyway. We will only turn away writers if we are absolutely at capacity.
