Guess who’s taking her talents to Tokyo? Yep—I’m off to Kagoshima, Japan, to dive deep into the world of rice-based spirits, namely Sake and Shochu. I am among 14 beverage professionals selected by the Japan Sake & Shochu Makers' Association for an immersive Sake & Shochu academy. Upon completing the 6-day program, I will be certified by the National Research Institute of Brewing and the Brewing Society of Japan.
