Daydream Darkroom presents (( CAMERA NOISE )), a one-night group photography exhibition and independent photo book fair bringing together ten Bay Area photographers working across analog photography, alternative printing processes, and experimental image-making.
Hosted at Daydream Darkroom’s home within the Warehouse 416 artist space in Oakland, the event celebrates the diverse and tactile practices emerging from the Bay Area’s contemporary photography community. The exhibition will feature work by Sophia Cutino, Mia Komel, Matty Lynn Barnes, Derek Macario, De’Juan Edwards, Aidan Jung, Ed Garnica, Michael Hoy, Adrienne Peña, and Andrew Kodama.
Alongside the exhibition, ((CAMERA NOISE)) will feature a marketplace of independent publishers, photographers, and local photo organizations, creating an opportunity for visitors to discover and support the artists and communities producing photo books, zines, prints, and other photographic work throughout the Bay Area.
The evening will also include live DJ and music performances, snacks and refreshments, and an instant large-format 4×5 Polaroid portrait station, inviting guests to participate in the photographic process and take home a one-of-a-kind instant image.
More than an exhibition, ((CAMERA NOISE)) is a gathering of photographers, artists, publishers, darkroom practitioners, and friends. A celebration of the physical, communal, and experimental possibilities of photography.
Free and open to the public.
