Survey Launch & AANHPI Artist Celebration
Join us as we celebrate the launch of AUSTIN CREATES TOGETHER: GREATER AUSTIN’S SURVEY ON AANHPI ARTS AND CULTURE. This pivotal initiative aims to get a more complete picture of how AANHPI cultural work is created, experienced, and supported within Austin’s changing cultural landscape.
The launch event will feature onsite survey registration stations and music by DJ Angel Mixtzen Rivera. You can join in a Bollywood dance lesson with dancers from Khush ATX (5:30pm) and a KPOP dance lesson from AuroraZ (6:30pm). There will be baos, dumplings, pad thai, curry, and ice cream for purchase from Red Dragon Bao and Thai Fresh.
The event will also include a benefit for Austin-based punk band Peelander-Z. Show proof of a $20 or more donation to the Peelander-Z GoFundMe and receive a free 2025 NightMarket.fun or 2026 Austin Dragon Boat Festival t-shirt, while supplies last. Mike Dickinson of Chicken Ranch Records will be on site to share updates on the band's recovery and sell Peelander-Z merch in their support.
The survey was created in partnership with Nielsen and the Data For Good Program. This launch event is made possible in partnership with HOPE Campaign and venue host HOPE Outdoor Gallery and is sponsored by Central Health.
