Mark your calendar! Join us at Douglas Fir Store in Los Angeles to celebrate FRIENDS, a solo exhibition by Keiji Ishida. The exhibition features a series of paintings based on figures originally drawn in Keiji’s sketchbooks, many of which began at less than ¾ inch tall. By enlarging these characters and placing them against vibrant, colorful backgrounds, the artist highlights the charm, personality, and spontaneity found in these small drawings. The paintings will be displayed throughout the store in unconventional ways, creating a dialogue between the artwork and the retail environment. This approach transforms the space into a unique narrative experience that can only exist within Douglas Fir. Please join us for the opening reception on September 27 from 5–8 PM. Drinks and tunes will be provided. We will also be releasing a limited-edition paper cup created in collaboration with Douglas Fir. The first 100 guests will receive one while supplies last. The exhibition will be on view September 27–October 11, 2026.
