Emanu-El's Young Adult Leadership Committee, in partnership with IPF Atid Bay Area and Malka Productions, presents Young Zionist Voices essayists Shanie Reichman and Alissa Bernstein in conversation with Alexa Abrams about their participation in the collection and their perspective, as well as a Yom HaAtzmaut celebration including Israeli food, drinks and music.
Ticket Pricing: $ 10 or FREE with proof of voting in the World Zionist Congress election.

Shanie Reichman is the director of strategic initiatives and director of IPF Atid at Israel Policy Forum, based in New York City, where she works to elevate the discourse around the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Shanie serves as the founding co-chair for the Forum Dvorah U.S. committee, on the board of Queens College Hillel, on the advisory council for the Center for Ethnic, Racial and Religious Understanding, as the Deputy Communications Director for Young Professionals in Foreign Policy’s (YPFP) NY Chapter, and as a mentor with Girl Security. Her work has been published in the Forward, the Jerusalem Post, Times of Israel, Hey Alma, Jewish Unpacked, and International Policy Digest.
Alissa Bernstein is the Assistant Director of AJC Los Angeles, where she manages the region's political outreach and legislative advocacy and interfaith and intergroup coalition building. In her role, she is responsible for deepening and expanding the office's political relationships on a local, State and Federal level and supporting ordinances which protect and empower the Jewish community and Israel. Alissa is dedicated to reaching outside of the Jewish community to build bridges with other cultural and religious groups in the region, including the Black, Latino, AAPI, LGBTQ+, Indian, and many other communities. She is passionate about fighting antisemitism at home and abroad through education, policy, and long-term relationship building.
Alexa Abrams earned her B.S. in Business Administration with a concentration in Entrepreneurship from Babson College. Since then, she’s built a dynamic career in Marketing and Operations, working with multiple startups across various industries. Notably, she was a founding member of Curtn, a video dating app. Currently, Alexa leads the Creator and Celebrity team at Facts For Peace, an organization dedicated to combating antisemitism and misinformation about Israel online. In her free time, she has organized and led volunteer trips to Israel to help rebuild kibbutzim devastated by the 10/7 attacks. She has also been an active member of Emanu-El’s Young Adult Leadership Committee for over two years.
