I [yoav yoavsen] would like to introduce you to Frank Zappa, one of my favorite musicians! I'll put on some of my favorite albums of his, maybe talk a bit about what I like about them, and there will probably be a large cuddle puddle. Perception enhancing substances recommended but not provided. You might like Frank Zappa if: - You like silliness for its own sake - You enjoy complex musical genres like progressive rock, modern classical, and jazz - You appreciate art that highlights the absurdity of life - You're not easily offended and don't mind very explicit sexual references Optionally, come dressed in 70s-80s rock fashion, or a very silly way, or an offensive way. If you manage to genuinely offend someone maybe I'll give you a prize (but maybe bring a change just in case). For people that decide it's not for them or want a break, there will be a dedicated Zappa Drop Out™ space where you can have a normal bushy party. Rough schedule: 7:00 - 8:15: Sheik Yerbouti. Lighter humorous rock album for people trickling in, talking in the listening space allowed 8:15 - 9:00: Hot Rats. Mostly instrumental jazz-rock album, still casual to come in but I'll mostly ask for quiet in the listening space 9:00 - 11:00: Joe's Garage. A "stupid little story about how the government is going to do away with music". This is my favorite Zappa album and the main course, I'll ask for silence in the main listening space and recommend to be there for the full 2 hours or as long as you're not uncomfortable 11:00 - 11:40: The Grand Wazoo. Lighter big band jazz album to wind down from Joe's Garage, talking allowed After The Grand Wazoo I'll adjust to what people feel like, I have several options in mind
