New York Tech Week is loud, fast, and technical. Before you dive in, come find your people to help you navigate this week with social good in mind.
AI is reshaping every sector that touches social impact such as and not exclusive: climate, health, education, conservation, and capital. But the most important conversations aren't happening on stages. They're happening between the people doing the work: the researchers, founders, funders, advocates, and practitioners who are navigating real tradeoffs, in real communities, with real stakes.
This is an open, informal gathering at The Globe Bar to kick off Tech Week with intention. Come ready to talk about how we use AI and tech safely, responsibly, and sustainably and what it means to build technology that actually serves people.
This is a meetup, there are no panels, but rather structured networking where you’ll break into groups of what you are interested in and meet people similar to collaborate and brainstorm with.
Who should come: Social impact enthusiasts. Climate tech builders and ocean conservationists. Nonprofit leaders. Impact investors and philanthropists. Global health advocates and humanitarian responders. Community organizers and policy thinkers. Anyone who wants to walk into Tech Week thinking about what technology should actually be for.

Hosts:
Paulina Muñoz is the author of Do Good Capital, a newsletter at the intersection of technology, investing, culture, and social impact, rooted in a deep belief that the financial system is one of the most powerful levers for social change. Her path from international policy to investment banking at HSBC and now to venture capital — where she spent time with Equal Opportunity Ventures as an investment fellow backing companies serving low-income and historically marginalized communities — has given her a rare, cross-sector view of how capital can be redirected toward the communities that need it most.
Angela Ng is the Director of Business Innovation at Carnegie Mellon University, where she has spent nearly five years leading sustainability, AI, and innovation programs across CMU's global campuses. With a decade of international development experience, spanning water and sanitation in Bangladesh and the DRC, maternal and child health in India, and disaster resilience across Africa and the Middle East, she brings a grounded, field-tested lens to emerging technology. She is passionate about responsible AI adoption in the social sector and is actively exploring how AI can drive climate action, ocean conservation, and equitable access at scale. She believes the most important work happens at the edges of disciplines, not the center of any one field. She is a Globethics AI Governance Fellow for 2026, focusing on AI ethics standards in Global South contexts.
