New Queers Eve: A Safe Words NYE Special 📅 Wednesday, December 31st | 6 PM doors ⏰ 7 PM show START (show over by 8:45) | 📍 SF Eagle 🎟 Pay What You Can & Limited VIP Tables Available 🍻 Come laugh, commiserate, and celebrate community as 2025 comes to a close. New Queers Eve: A Safe Words Queer Comedy Showcase Wednesday, December 31 · Doors at 6 PM · Show at 7 PM SHARP · SF Eagle Ring in the new year surrounded by laughter, community, and a lineup of powerhouse queer comedians. New Queers Eve is a special holiday edition of Safe Words, San Francisco’s longest-running mission-driven queer comedy showcase — where we create safe spaces for queer audiences and accelerate the careers of queer comedians. Come early, grab a drink, and settle in — this show truly starts at 7 PM on the dot. Unlike our usual Safe Words timing, we are not doing a 7:30 start for New Queers Eve. We need every minute of laughter before everyone heads out to their midnight plans, so please plan accordingly. Please plan accordingly — 7 PM SHARP. Let’s close out 2025 with joy, resilience, and the kind of queer brilliance you won’t find anywhere else. --- ⭐ Featuring ⭐ Frida Sierra (she/her) Queer, Lesbian, Transgender For over a decade, Frida Sierra has traveled across the United States, eating from vending machines and telling jokes to strangers. Coming out of the Bay Area — sweating profusely and speaking loudly — her electric, fast-paced storytelling has taken her to the Santa Cruz Comedy Festival, the Savage Henry Comedy Festival, and the Great American Music Hall. She’s worked with everyone from Eric Wareheim (Tim & Eric) to Tom Rhodes and a bunch of famous comics who probably wouldn’t remember her. Frida has been featured in The San Francisco Chronicle, on Fox KTVU News, and on KQED. --- Brian Govender (he/him) Gay; Brian Govender is a Portland-based comedian who performs throughout the Pacific Northwest. His comedy blends painful-to-absurd life moments with a warm storytelling style and, occasionally, razor-edged observations. He’s never met a cardigan he didn’t like and radiates the energy of a horny Mr. Rogers. --- Baruch Porras Hernandez (he/him) Queer, Gay; Baruch Porras Hernandez has performed comedy everywhere — from fancy universities to strip clubs to literal caves — and once had a donut named after him at Dynamo Donuts, which feels important to mention. He is the creator and host of the Latinx comedy showcase Donde Está Mi Comedy?, a three-time SF Sketchfest selection. His comedy credits span the Bay and beyond, including ManHaters, SubMission Comedy, Nightlife on Mars, DNA’s Comedy Lab, Alameda Comedy Club, Tourettes Without Regrets, Comedy at El Rio, Giant Robot Comedy, and more. He has appeared in Marga Gomez’s legendary NYE Comedy Fiesta and Comedy Bodega. Born in Mexico and based in San Francisco, he will make out with your dad. --- Geneva Rust-Orta (she/her) Cisgender, Pansexual Originally from Oakland and now based in Brooklyn, Geneva Rust-Orta is a comic and writer with sharp wit and irresistible charm. She was named Second Funniest Jew at the 2015 Jewish Comedian of the Year Festival in London and brought half-hour shows to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 2016 and 2017. Her solo show Gayby Girl ran off-Broadway at the SoHo Playhouse in 2022 and 2023. Geneva performs regularly at SoHo Playhouse’s Huron Comedy Club and has been featured in the Oakland Comedy Festival, Santa Cruz Comedy Festival, and SF Sketchfest. --- Lalita Dee (they/she) Queer, Lesbian, Gay; Lalita Dee was a finalist in the 2023 Rooster T Feathers Comedy Competition and has performed at Carolines on Broadway, Las Locas Comedy (Chicago), and The Comedy Chateau (LA). They’ve hosted for TikTok sensation Zarna Garg at Cobb’s SF and Punchline Sacramento. Their humor has been described as “intelligently hilarious” — and also “some feminist BS,” which they accept proudly. --- 🎤 About Safe Words Safe Words is committed to creating safe spaces for queer audiences and accelerating the careers of queer comedians. Our shows spotlight diverse voices, celebrate joy as resistance, and foster community through laughter. Join us for New Queers Eve — let’s start 2026 the queerest way possible.# New Queers Eve: A Safe Words Queer Comedy Showcase Wednesday, December 31 · Doors at 6 PM · Show at 7 PM SHARP · SF Eagle Ring in the new year surrounded by laughter, community, and a lineup of powerhouse queer comedians.
