The menu at Whole Beast, a newly opened restaurant in Brixton, reads as if an American barbecue pit master and a St John chef got drunk together and created their wildest fantasy dishes 🥵
The aged cheeseburger 🍔(which is worth every bit of hype) is just the gateway drug into an umami-packed party. It’s followed by the fatboy: fire pit dripping potatoes smothered in raclette, aged beef fat mayo and burger onions.
There’s also tacos filled with minced pork jowl, coriander & jalapeno served alongside dripping texas toast with bread and butter pickles. If your heart hasn’t stopped working by this part of the evening, it will after the dessert: crack pie topped with heaps of smoked maple syrup ice cream.
