Welcome to Unfiltered by Amy Racine, a series bringing together some of the most thoughtful voices in wine and beverage while spotlighting purpose-driven hospitality.
Next up, we’re thrilled to welcome Kanye Tomiwa, wine cork artist and designer whose work exists at the intersection of sustainability, storytelling, and functional art.
With a background in architecture, Kanye approaches each piece through the lens of structure, balance, and how art lives within a space. Six years ago, he began collecting discarded wine corks — first by the handful, then by the thousands. Today, he has recycled more than 500,000 corks, transforming them into sculptural wall art, mirrors, cube tables, and furniture pieces that give new life to moments otherwise forgotten.
Kanye frequently collaborates with vineyards, brands, and collectors to create meaningful site-specific installations and custom works. His pieces have been exhibited at galleries and vineyards across the country, including installations at Harvard Business School, and are collected both nationally and internationally.
