the Unfolding is Marissa’s first solo exhibition, showcasing a body of work created over the last 3 years. Her abstract paintings explore how we connect to our intuition and our truth, one layer at a time, through processes of self inquiry, death and rebirth, wilting and re-emerging. And the surrendering in each moment of the unfolding. Her pieces are lively and bold, taking inspiration from street art and improvisational dance. Gesture, form, and raw emotion are recorded on canvas. Each piece a unique expression to be witnessed. Marissa’s art career has been a long time coming, and is slowly taking shape. Thanks to her delightful new connection and art admirer, Anthea Ferrer, she’ll be showcasing her work at Jack London Square Realty on September 19 from 1-3pm. Light refreshments will be served.
