In this workshop you will learn ancient techniques of washing, carding, and dyeing wool with natural products that has been inherited from generation to generation. The Zapotec artisan Vero Mendoza will demonstrate the process she uses in the production of her textiles made on a pedal loom.
Each participant is asked to bring a small cotton garment so you can experience the magic of natural dyeing yourself. This can be a bucket hat, a napkin, or a small scarf. Please do not bring large or bulky items.
Recommended donation of $25 for all participants, but nobody will be turned away due to lack of funds. Donations also accepted in cash upon arrival. Please reach out to grahamcoatessmith@gmail.com with any questions or for additional accommodations.
