Earth Day 5k: For Mental Health Awareness

This will be a walk and talk event hosted by Lisa Nelson, to discuss Climate Anxiety and the effects that climate change has on mental health. We will be walking at a gentle pace while cleaning up trash from the Burke Gilman trail. 10:00AM Check-in Location: In front of the ARC building - See map link Walk begins: 11:00 AM Walk Start location: In front of the Veterans Arch on the Burke Gilman trail next to the UW football field - This will be an out-and-back walk on the Burke Gilman trail. Participants encouraged to bring gloves, water and a bag for garbage. Optional Event shirt supporting mental health awareness: See link for details. *This is optional attire and is not in any way affiliated with Cascadia College - This shirt was specifically chosen as a dedication to young adult mental health awareness by Lisa Nelson. (Please order as soon as possible if you would like to wear your shirt on the day of the event.) Dogs and kids welcome! Caution: This is a mixed-use-trail and requires attention to sudden oncoming cyclists. This is a physical event - though this is a walk at your own pace event, participants acknowledge and accept full responsibility for any health-related events that may occur during the walk.
