What is re:genesis?
At a time when Afro-Caribbean culture is often commercialized, diluted, or reduced to surface-level imagery, this year’s Culture Show seeks to restore depth to the narratives that define our communities.
Re:genesis centers the lived experiences of African and Caribbean identity — not as aesthetic, not as trend, but as inheritance.
It asks us to consider what it means to honor where we come from while allowing ourselves to grow.
Re:genesis is not a return to the past. It is a movement toward transformation. It reflects on how identity is carried and expressed across generations — shaped by migration, distance, memory, and connection. It recognizes that culture does not remain static; it evolves, adapts, and persists through resilience.
Through performance, storytelling, music, and movement, we explore how culture continues to live — not just in history, but in us.
Together, we turn the page and move forward with intention and unity.
