TLDR: Join us for a public scavenger hunt along 42nd Street to explore its hidden gems and highlight ways we can make it better for pedestrians, bus riders, and bike riders. Plus, win cool prizes while supporting the “Miracle on 42nd Street” campaign! Details: The Miracle on 42nd Street is a campaign by Transportation Alternatives, a NYC nonprofit, to upgrade Manhattan’s 42nd Street with wider sidewalks, a dedicated busway, and a bike lane. Learn more and sign the petition here: https://www.miracleon42nd.nyc We’re hosting a community scavenger hunt to celebrate what we love about 42nd Street while identifying areas for improvement. This is your chance to strengthen our community, make friends, and take action for a better NYC. Everyone’s welcome! The Plan: 1️⃣ Meet-up: Join us at the fountain in Bryant Park (Sixth Ave side) at 1pm to kick things off. You’ll hear from our campaign leaders, get your scavenger hunt sheets, and receive a quick briefing. There’ll be an opportunity to form small groups with other hunters, if you want. 2️⃣ Hunt: Explore 42nd Street by foot, bike, or bus! Take photos to document what we love and hate about 42nd Street, crossing items off the list we’ll give you. The hunt will highlight everything from cute mini-parks to obstructed bus lanes. The more you find, the more points you’ll collect! 3️⃣ Wrap-up: We’ll gather back at Bryant Park to share your finds, tally points, and reward the top scavenger-hunters with exclusive Transportation Alternatives swag! What to Bring: Just your phone, a pen, and a positive attitude! Let’s have fun and join together to make 42nd Street a safer, more enjoyable space for everyone.
