Why we dine

Autumn picnic (sundresses, suspenders, bare feet), but keep an eye on the weather; as always - still dress to inspire honor in yourself and others

The purpose of a Soirée is to experiment with designing a dining experience that uses etiquette, courtesy, and honor to facilitate deep, transformative, beautiful, and purposeful conversation. We draw from old-world traditions to facilitate this, bridging from the past to the modern world. You can read more about what to expect at these Soirées here: https://sageheroes.org/soiree The theme will be hospitality, and the duties of hospitality that we each hold. We recommend that you dedicate the time to reflect on this theme with intention prior to attending. We will be meeting out of doors in a private meadow, and dinner will be potluck style. So bring: - Food & beverages (to share, if you wish!) - A blanket to sit on - Bug spray We will provide some cups for both drinking and toasting, but please do bring a glass to toast with yourself if you can! This is an experience designed to help us slow down and be more present and communal, so expect to hang out for a few hours toasting and conversing over the food. We will be aiming to have the Toast to the Departed at around 7:30ish, and this is the central anchor of the traditional toasting sequence, so it won't be considered improper no matter how late you arrive or early you leave as long as you're there for that part.
