The purpose of this panel is to discuss Freedom from Economic Suppression for African-Americans and Kashmiris at Howard University. This event will explore the intentional economic suppression of African Americans in the United States and the parallels faced by Kashmiri Muslims in India.
The panelists will discuss historical and contemporary forces, including legal frameworks, that have contributed to these populations’ economic and social disenfranchisement. Topics will include home ownership, access to capital, and the impact of colonial-era policies.
Complimentary food and beverage will be generously provided by the World Kashmir Awareness Forum.
