CALLING ALL PICNIC ENTHUSIASTS & CREATIVE WANNABIES: The E-House and North Park Picnic are combining forces for an early evening of creativity and community while drinking in a beautiful San Diego summer sunset. Together we'll share tasty food and dive into quick poetry writing sessions where the only way to fail or look silly is to not try! Event format: - After picnicking and breaking the ice for a bit, we'll divide into groups for some impromptu poetry. - Everyone in each group will have a few minutes to write down a handful of potential subjects, and all topics will be placed into a bowl. - Someone in that group will pull a topic at random, and you + the whole group will have ~5 minutes to write a short poem on the subject - in whatever way it most relates to you. - Everyone in the group will read their poems and be blown away by how creative they & others are. Feeling nervous? Trust us that when there's a time limit & no space for perfectionism + a whole community participating with you, that this quickly becomes an incredibly fun & freeing exercise. WHAT TO BRING: - It is a picnic so please bring something tasty to share. - A blanket or something to sit on. - Liquid courage for dialing into the poetic mindset. Or just anything to keep yourself hydrated! - Most importantly: the willingness to try something new & realize you're actually pretty good at it. The more the merrier, so please feel free to invite friends, and let's make this an amazing Wednesday night to remember!
