We are hosting an exhibition to highlight local New York Artists. We met both of our partner artists at The Other Art Fair and are excited to curate some of their works. We will be serving food and have a full bar with cocktails, natural wines, and beers. See notes from each artist below. ALL PIECES ARE FOR SALE. Tucker Eason: My art practice is a tribute to the utilitarian and an homage to the working class. Using direct representation or symbolic objects I nod to the quiet solitude of blue-collar work, and honor their underappreciated burden. The inclusion of iconography from luxury brands quietly suggests the commodification of the proletariat while insisting on the important role of the masses. My work serves as a commendation to the overlooked laborers who sustain society, highlighting the elegance and significance found in their everyday tools and tasks. By honoring the analog workhorse and emphasizing simplicity, I invite viewers to appreciate the beauty and dignity inherent in the lives of those unseen. Gail Garcia: I create work that captures some of these moments and reflects an urban vibe. My intention is for my viewers and collectors to relate to my art through recognition of and familiarity with the situations, the emotions, and the energy, almost as if they are seeing what they know. After completing my education at the School of Visual Arts I began a career in Communication Arts designing and art directing, delivering concept to completion on a diverse range of projects for everything (agencies, publishing, public relations, media companies, art institutes, brands+) except television and film. My design work gained recognition, won awards and was published over the years. Throughout I remained true to my earliest passion: painting.
