A classically trained pianist and member in several award-winning musical projects including Carla J. Easton and 36?, Hickli’s latest material has struck a spellbinding balance of spectral intimacy and bombast explosivity. In 2023, Laura and her band suffered a serious van accident while touring in the US. Two years later, she returns to the road with a brand new record, "Dark Secrets," on PTSD, grief, and recovery. It's fitting that ARSWAIN, the alt-electronic alter ego of film composer Freddy Avis, shares the same birthplace as computer-generated sound itself: Stanford's Center for Computer Research in Music and Acoustics. Disillusioned with Stanford's tech-fanatic culture, Avis sought refuge at CCRMA and soaked up the sounds of Nicolas Jaar, Holly Herndon, and Nine Inch Nails. The result? A moody blend of tectonic beats, aching vocals, textural sound design, and a songwriting pathos reminiscent of Radiohead's Kid A. Avis got his start in film scoring working at Hans Zimmer's film scoring studio, before opening up his own shop in east LA. In 2023, he released his third album "Lick From The Sink," and has an EP release planned for 2025. STONEFRUIT is Bozeman's up-and-coming indie rock band, comprised of guitarist/vocalist Olivia Langan, bassist Gavin Wallace, and drummer Jory Gomez.
