Join us for the opening of Dawn of Digital, an expo on digital innovation, evolution and application, and the visual and sonic cultures that have developed as a result, at the Public Works Gallery.
An exhibition of early digital image-making, sound, and design—made with primitive tools, clunky interfaces, and machines that break promises.
But this isn’t just about the past. Digital never really grew up nor got any easier. Screens are smaller. Inputs multiplied. Time in the real world has been stolen. The universe has collapsed into grids, scrolls, and seemingly infinite options that rarely do what we want them to.
From cracked pixels to crashed software and the attendant heartache, we remain transfixed, still making beauty with devices designed for something else. This show is a tribute to that stubborn magic.
Featuring art & design from Someoddpilot, music event programming throughout the installation run from Someoddpilot Records and plenty of special guests.
