Barbara's Day Trip to San Diego

Alright class, seatbelts on. Ms. Frizzle's bus doesn't do field trips like this one. Here's what you need to know to plan for Babara’s Magic School Bus to San Diego. Pick up is at the Target off Highway 5, 5600 Whittier Blvd, Commerce, CA 90022. Be there at 1pm, we leave right at 1pm, in theory no waiting around for stragglers. We drive down from 1pm to 3pm. Around 3pm we make one stop, at 3485 Del Mar Heights Rd, San Diego, CA 92130. That shopping center has a Ralph's, Starbucks, Sidecar, Pressed Juice, Mendocino Farms and a good tea shop, so grab whatever food or drink you need and use the bathroom while you can. This is also where we quickly run through a couple of moments for the show, so stay close by. As of right now, we’re planning to leave that stop around 4pm and head into San Diego. Get in free with RSVP if you enter before 5pm, otherwise it's $25 after 5pm. Our set hits the rooftop at 8pm. Load out is right at 9pm. At 9:30pm we roll out and make a quick taco stop at El Charro Taco Shop, looks basic but it's good and open late. We leave San Diego around 10pm and get back to the Target parking lot around midnight. A few bus facts since the bus really is old: no AC, it's genuinely 50 years old, and no alcohol on board since it's an active school bus. No cost for the day itself, just cover your own food.
