A community exhibition and salon exploring Black memory, displacement, and the places that raised us. Visual Memory brings together artists and community members for an evening of art, conversation, and collective reflection. This edition focuses on displacement as a unifying force across the diaspora. Through visual art, lecture, and dialogue, we ask: what happens when the places that raised us become unrecognizable? The evening includes: -A curated community exhibition exploring Black visual memory, displacement, and the traces communities leave behind -A conversational lecture by Taylor Price, offering historical and cultural context for the work on view -A panel discussion and salon-style gathering for reflection, exchange, and community dialogue -A “Bring Your Memory” archival component, where guests are invited to bring a photograph, object, written memory, or offering connected to home or migration. The full exhibition will be on view June 11–21.
