Get ready for a culinary journey like no other! North Carolina’s 2023 Chef of the Year and a Food Network’s Chopped champion, Chef Adé Carrena, will craft an exquisite 3-course West African feast that tells the story of her homeland.
About Chef Adé: Born in Benin, West Africa, and adopted at age 10, Adé has made it her mission to bridge cultural gaps through authentic West African dining experiences. As the founder of iLéWA Foods, she works directly with women entrepreneurs in Benin to source traditional spices, creating economic opportunities across the diaspora. Her philosophy? “wa mi dounou” - “come share a meal with me” - because there’s nothing more special than gathering, nourishing our bodies, and creating memories through food.
