The National Park Service plans to close the upper lawn at Malcolm X Park from March 23rd through early September, removing one of DC's most important community gathering spaces for the entire warm season. While we support restoring the park, we believe it doesn't have to mean losing complete access. We've created a petition urging NPS to consider phased restoration or partial access so our community can still use this vital space this spring and summer.

This Saturday, join us for a park party to show the world how much this place means to us and to help us spread the word. Bring friends, blankets, instruments, food, art, whatever makes your park experience special, and come ready to help us gather signatures and build momentum.
