Miami. Art Basel. AAPI leads. Millions of 🤑. Scenes shot at Tropical Chinese, the beloved Miami dim sum spot. Bad a$$ forgery. How is it all connected? Well, you're invited to truly one of the best films I've seen in years, and it's opening up here in Miami where it was filmed, this weekend! FORGE is an incredible crime thriller from writer-director Jing Ai Ng (who grew up from Malaysia to Miami), set in the high-stakes world of Miami's art scene and following the Zhang siblings, two of the city's best art forgers who get pulled in a bit over their heads. Agent Emily Lee is played by Kelly Marie Tran (Star Wars: The Last Jedi, Raya and the Last Dragon). FORGE was filmed here in Miami, and it premiered at SXSW to rave reviews. We have bought out the entire theatre, so this screening is completely free, thanks to a generous donor and the FORGE team. Rundown of the night this Sunday, May 31: 5:30 PM. Arrive at Coral Gables Art Cinema. 5:45 PM. Film begins. 7:45PM. Immediately after the film, Q&A and afters celebration across the street at Books & Books at A live Q&A with writer-director Jing Ai Ng, moderated by Jason Ve, President of PAPER. ~8:00 PM. Afters celebration directly across the street at Books & Books, a one-minute walk. Drinks and bites available for purchase.
