On Saturday December 14th, we'll be exploring the parks, art houses, cuisines, and wintry vibes of Brooklyn, starting in Bay Ridge beneath the Verrazano Bridge, hugging the Brooklyn coast, and exploring its many interlinked parks. Then, we'll dive into a dumpling tour of Brooklyn's Chinatown for lunch. From there, we'll pass through Greenwood Cemetery and Prospect Park, culminating at the LeFrak Ice Rink so that anyone still wanting hot chocolate and ice skating can indulge to their heart's content.
Here's my Google Maps list of the places we'll pass by:

We won't make it to every location on the list, but I encourage you to explore and revisit them whenever you please!
FYI this is a 6+ hour stroll, and you are free to join us at *any* point between 10am-4pm 🙌
All RSVP'd "yes" and "maybe" attendees will receive a link at 10am to my realtime location for the entire hike, along with my phone number, so you can see exactly where we are on google maps and call me directly if you need help 🤗

🌿 About Hyggehiking 🌿
Hygge means "a quality of coziness and comfortable conviviality that engenders a feeling of contentment or well-being."
"Hyggehiking" is my own special blend, where we engage in that conviviality while trekking through green spaces throughout our city.
I host Hygge gatherings so we can come together to make new friends, discuss fun projects we're eager to work on, dive into deep, thoughtful discussions, and meet people who can help make NYC feel like a smaller, closer-knit community. We bring our friends, family, coworkers, anyone we think would enjoy spending the day alongside a variety of curious souls.

🗺️ ITINERARY 🗺️
10am-10:30am — Denyse Wharf, Bay Ridge Promenade
✨We'll gather on Denyse Wharf, below the Verrazano Bridge, then begin trekking north along the coast.
10:30am-11:30am — Shore Park and Parkway, Narrows Botanical Gardens, Owl's Head Park
✨ We'll explore a botanical garden and see how we feel about a park named after its next door wastewater treatment plant.
11:30am-12:30pm — BioBat Art Space
✨ I don't know if this space for sure will be open, but I hope so, because it looked like a great one to wander through.
12:30pm-2:30pm — Leif Ericson Park, Uncle Wang, He Yi Xiaochi, Kai Feng Fu Dumpling House, Great Taste Dumpling
✨ This past summer, I collaborated with a friend on dumpling tour of Brooklyn's Chinatown and we made a zine with our ratings. There were still so many other spots to try, so I'm hoping we can all scout out spots and share!
2:30pm-3:00pm — Sunset Park, Ines Bakery
✨ Hopefully we'll catch golden hour with a view of Manhattan, then scout out desserts at a mom & pop local bakery.
3:00pm-3:30pm — Sylvan Water, Greenwood Cemetery
✨ Greenwood is surprisingly hilly and satisfying to wander through.
3:30pm-4:00pm — Lookout Hill, LeFrak Center at Lakeside, Prospect Park
✨ Hot chocolate? Ice skating? Hang out and keep talking? Invite one another to fun things coming up?
