How can we reimagine the limits of biological systems? This ARIA-sponsered Jeffersonian dinner will bring together biologists, engineers, computer scientists, and anyone else who can contribute to this question. During our time together, we will discuss: (1) What are the current limits of life (chemical, architectural, informational, ...)? (2) What new capabilities can be gained from altering those limits? (3) What technologies may get us there (i.e., synthetic genomics, cell therapies, non-standard amino acids, mitochondrial engineering)?
