🌳What's Advaitha Vedantha Satsang?🌳
🌸Advaitha — "not two." The recognition that there is no fundamental separation between self and reality.
🌸Vedantha — "the end/culmination of the Vedas." The philosophical conclusion of these ancient texts.
🌸Satsang — "company of truth/goodness." A gathering of people coming together in pursuit of wisdom.
✨About the Group✨
This group is for: Everyone (seeking spiritual insight and grounding).
Join us for a monthly journey through the classical texts of this living tradition. We're starting with the Dakshinamurthy Stotram — a profound hymn to a silent teacher. We will continue on to other foundational texts as we go.
Each session will include some Sanskrit, ancient text analysis, mantras, and lots of reflection — but more than anything, this is a space to explore who we really are, together.
⏱️Format⏱️
(7:30–9:30 PM):
7:30 – Invocation & meditation (15 min)
7:45 – Class / teaching (40 min)
8:25 – Discussion & Q&A (20+ min)
8:50ish – Closing meditation (15 min)
Remaining time — conversation, community
🙏🏽Discussion space:
All questions welcome — philosophy, related practices, Sanatana Dharma broadly. No question is too basic or too advanced. This is a safe space for all.
💪🏽A note on this space:
Some practices within Hinduism today carry casteist, elitist, and racist practices and baggage. This space actively rejects that. We come together as equals, rooted in the recognition that we are all divine — that is the actual teaching. All are welcome and empowered here, regardless of background, identity, or prior exposure to these traditions.
✍🏽What to bring:
Yourself, your curiosity and questions, something to write on and with if you want to take notes, and hydration.
👣The journey ahead👣
This is an ongoing monthly series. As we complete each text, we'll move to the next — building a shared library of texts and understanding over time. Text recommendations always welcome — send them my way!
Session 2 — Advaitha Vedantha in Practice & Dhakshinamurthy Stotram Verse 1.
We'll begin with the lineage that brings us Advaita Vedanta, what the teaching is about, and who/what Dakshinamurthy and this stotram represent.
