🌊☀️ Bay Paddle Day ☀️🌊
Who’s ready for a day on the water? 🩵
We’re planning a paddle day around the Bay Area, and we’d love for you to join us!
📍 Location: Near Oakland (exact launch location coming soon!)
🗓️ Current Date: Saturday, August 29
Please note: We’re scouting the location beforehand to make sure it’s a great spot with easy parking and plenty of space. The location—and possibly the date—may change based on what we find, so stay tuned for updates!
Whether you paddleboard, kayak, or just want to spend the day hanging out by the water, come join us!
🚣 Bring Your Own Adventure
Bring whatever gets you out on the water:
🏄 Paddleboard
🛶 Kayak
🚤 Any human-powered watercraft
🏖️ Or simply come relax by the shore and enjoy the day!
If you don’t have your own equipment, let us know! Between us, we have a few extras that may be available to borrow. We’ll do our best to help everyone get out on the water. I also posted about a rental spot nearby!
🌞 Don’t Forget
💧 Water
🧴 Sunscreen
🧢 Hat & sunglasses
🥪 Snacks or lunch
🏖️ Towel
👕 A change of clothes (you never know! 😂)
This is all about getting outside, exploring a new spot, meeting new people, and enjoying a relaxing day on the water. No experience necessary—whether it’s your first time or you’re out every weekend, everyone is welcome!
💙 RSVP Requested
Please RSVP so we have an idea of who’s coming and can coordinate equipment if anyone needs to borrow a paddleboard or kayak.
We’ll send out the final location and any updates after we scout the area. Looking forward to a fun day on the water! 🌊☀️
🌊 Important Safety Update
As this event has grown, I wanted to clarify a few things.
This is an informal community meetup, not a guided tour, lesson, or professionally organized event. There will be no instructors, lifeguards, safety staff, or rescue support. Everyone attends and participates at their own risk and is responsible for making their own decisions about whether conditions are appropriate for them.
If you plan to paddle, please:
* Be able to swim.
* Be comfortable in open water.
* Be capable of managing yourself and your equipment without relying on others.
* Bring and wear appropriate safety gear, including a properly fitted life jacket.
If you’re new to paddleboarding, not comfortable swimming, or aren’t confident in ocean conditions yet, I’d love for you to still come hang out on the beach, meet everyone, and enjoy the community! There will absolutely be opportunities to socialize without getting on the water.
Please use your own judgment regarding ocean and weather conditions before participating. If at any point you don’t feel comfortable, it’s always okay to sit this one out.
Looking forward to seeing everyone and having a fun, safe day together! 💙
