Join me for a fun food crawl in Astoria, one of the city’s most exciting food neighborhoods. We’ll move through savory bites, and finish on a sweet note.
We’ll keep things fun and easy to pace. We’ll be starting at 4:45 PM. Here’s the plan:
1. Merguez & Frites (Algerian) – A quick, casual stop for bold flavors. Enjoy spicy lamb sausages paired with crispy fries. Perfect for sharing or a quick bite. We leave right at 5:45PM, so if you’re cutting it close, consider giving the restaurant a call to place your order ahead.
2. Stamatis (Greek) – A comfortable sit-down stop to enjoy shareable Greek dishes served family-style.
3. King of Falafel & Shawarma (Palestinian) – Next up is King of Falafel’s truck, serving crispy falafel and juicy chicken shawarma. Flavorful, light, and also perfect for sharing.
4. Figo Il Gelato Italiano (Italian) – End on a sweet note with rich gelato. Their signature Figo flavor is made with ricotta, caramelized figs, and amaretti cookies. The pistachio, made with pure Sicilian nuts, is another standout. They also serve pastries like tiramisu cakes. A cool, satisfying finish to the crawl.
We’ll likely finish up sometime between 8:30 and 9:00 PM.
