FAQ
Q: For coed quads, does it have to be 2/2 gender equality?
A: Generally, yes. If it's a ragtag team of solo players, we probably will make an exception. If a capt asks Alex about 3 gals, 1 guy, probably ok but ask first.
Q: What is parking situation?
A: Street parking is best bet
Q: Do we play if it rains?
A. Yes, no cancellation due to rain

RULES
Some notable beach volleyball rules (rules will be presented before match play begins):
π Open hands passing (aka 2 hands not touching each other) is allowed at AVP & FIVB now so weβll follow suit. However, note:
π If vball coming over net is a hard-driven ball (defined by having downward trajectory + no arc when coming over net), open hands passing is allowed + no doubles call from this 1st touch but one canβt hold and redirect ball
π If vball comes over net from a non hard-driven ball (eg bump over, set over, roll shot, dink), 1st touch open hands passing is allowed but it has to be "clean" (simultaneous, even) like a set pass which means doubles can be called.
π No directional blocking (no flimsy wrist or fingers action)
π No using open hand as a touch allowed (ie spread fingers + w/flimsy wrist action)
π Dinking highly encouraged but some pop needed (ie no open hand). Use: fist, fingers knuckle, strong one hand all straight fingers poking (aka mantis style), wrist, head or foot
π No hand pass or set over net on first touch
π No hand sets sideways of one's body over net. Frontward or backwards are ok but only if ball are "between the shoulders" as it crosses the net
π Hand sets with forward rotations of ball is ok now since it's considered "clean." Any ball with side rotation is a double and opponent get a point
π Going a little under net is ok if it doesn't impede an opponent
π For Quads, a block is a defensive touch and the blocker can still touch vball again as a 1st touch
π For Doubles, a block is an offensive touch and the blocker can still touch vball again but that'll be the 2nd touch
π 1 timeout per game
