Openlev is honored to be hosting a ritual gathering with designer and death care innovator Jordanna Ibghy and vocalist Leah Siegel.
Yom Kippur is often understood as a rehearsal for death: a day when we abstain from the pleasures of the body, wear white, and confront our own impermanence.
Near the end of the days of awe, join us for an intimate ritual experience and guided conversation on death and renewal. Together, we will reflect on what we are ready to release, return to what matters, and set intentions for the year ahead. Through Jewish wisdom, candlelight, and community, we will honor Yom Kippur’s invitation to face mortality not as an ending—but as an opportunity to return to life with clarity, humility, and purpose.

Your Hosts:
Jordanna Ibghy is a designer and deathcare innovator working at the intersection of death, design, and ritual ecology. She is the Founder of Urth Ritual, a startup creating biodegradable mycelium burial products. Jordanna’s work invites us to contemplate our relationship with mortality and the natural cycles of life and death as a practice for mindful living.
Leah Siegel is a lifelong singer-songwriter, performer, and writer who turned her creative intuition toward healing. In 2015 she developed The Spar Method, a framework for couples to navigate hard conversations. Leah now teaches this method in a 3-month program to create the life we want and continues to sing and perform when called.
Benjamin Richman, a seeker of meaning and purpose who found his calling through Jewish mysticism, meditation, and community building.
Alexandra Klausner is a storyteller and lover of creative play, community building, and Jewish mysticism. She has worked as a journalist for a decade and is also an actor, playwright, and improvisational singer.
